• What's the best Computer language to Learn?

What do the users of WarezBB think is the best programming language to learn? I am 17 years old, studying ICT at Sixth Form and I do definitely want a career in Computer somewhere, and I will be going to University in a couple of years.

I have been studying too many languages currently (not with school, in my free time) and I’m not sure which I want to go further into. Currently, I have a good basic knowledge on:

    1. HTML
    2. CSS
    3. Ruby
    4. The Command Line
    5. and I know a bit of Java and C#

so what would you users recommend? (also, suggested career paths for these languages you recommend would be grateful)

Keep your HTML / CSS. You’ll always need your basic mark up to express yourself at a dot com position on the web.
Your command line is not a programming language but is definitely required if you wish to use root access to any web server. Plus it’ll help you understand the OS a lot better!

Ruby or Python is brilliant! It depends what your end goal is for the project, to which you should use.
.NET might be an option, I worked in a global company which had in-house .NET programmers on a decent salary, they built pretty much 80% of their in-house tools using .NET.
