Student Record and Information (Registry Management) System in Java and MySQL

Let us understand the requirements of a student record and information management system.

First of all, we need to understand what is a registry? A registry is an online service that helps students to store their academic details. It contains the information regarding their course, marks, attendance etc. It is a very important tool for students as it will help them to study better and get good grades.

As you all know that the students are important assets of any organization. So, the management of records is very important and it is the duty of the registry department to maintain the records of all the students.

But sometimes the management of student records is difficult and sometimes it is time taking. So, we will discuss the best approach to build a simple registry system using java and MySQL database.

There are many benefits of building a registry system, for example, it will help you to manage the data related to students, parents, classes, teachers, and other things. It will also help you to maintain the security of the records.

For building a registry system in java and MySQL, we will use the following steps:

Step 1: Database Creation

First of all, you need to create a database in MySQL. In this step, you need to connect to the database and create the table structure.

For this, you need to create a table called “registry” with the following fields:

  • ID
  • Name
  • Father’s name
  • Mother’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Class
  • Address
  • Contact no
  • Email address
  • Mobile number
  • Picture

Step 2: Data Retrieval

After that, we will insert the values of the above-mentioned fields in the database.

For example, you will have to insert the value of the father’s name and mother’s name of the new born baby into the field called “Father” and “Mother” respectively.

Step 3: Data Update

After inserting the data, we will update the values of the existing data. For example, you will have to update the field “Mother” with the updated value of the new born baby.

Step 4: Data Delete

Finally, we will delete the data that is not required by us.

  12. MySQL Server: MySQL server is the computer that is used to host the database.
  13. Linux Operating System: The Linux operating system is the platform that is used for hosting the java program.
  14. Eclipse: The eclipse is a software for developing the java programs.
